Keep Covid-19 at Bay: Healthy habits residential communities should maintain

COVID-19 is a highly contagious virus and we need to do everything we can to limit its spread. Within our residential communities, we need to maintain certain healthy habits to keep the virus at bay and protect ourselves and the people around us from catching it. It is important to remember that even if our immune system is strong enough to handle COVID-19, we could pass on the virus to people who may not be able to survive it. That is why keeping these habits in mind and following certain rules is important. With upcoming residential projects in Hyderabad, we feel it is essential to educate everyone with the safety rules and regulations along with a few healthy habits to induce in your daily lives.

  •  Wear Masks – Members of residential communities should wear a mask when they step out of their homes, even if it is just to go for a walk. Wearing a mask protects you from germs and also protects others from you in case you are an asymptomatic carrier of the virus.
  • Social Distancing – Another important habit is to maintain a 6-foot distance from other members of your community. Since the virus mainly spreads through droplets from coughing or sneezing, this is a safe distance to ensure that your germs do not reach the other person you are interacting with and also that you are protected against the other person’s germs.
  • Wash Your Hands – Another very important habit to maintain as washing your hands and refraining from touching your face. The virus can stay on surfaces for hours, sometimes days, at a time. So washing your hands for at least twenty seconds is a good way to make sure that you are staying clean and killing any germs that may be on the surfaces of things you touch. Sanitizing is also a good way to kill germs, so if you are going out it is good to carry a bottle of sanitizer with you.
  • Avoid Unnecessary Interactions – People living in flats in a hitch city should be extra careful because the areas they live in might be more densely populated and have a higher number of interactions with people from outside the residential community. The risk of spreading or catching an infection in these areas is higher and members of these communities need to take extra precaution.
  • Avoid Overcrowding – Overcrowding is a major factor in the transmission of diseases with epidemic potential such as acute respiratory infections, meningitis etc. Hence, one should avoid using outdoor recreational amenities like Gyms, Swimming Pools, Libraries, Cafeterias etc. until and unless it’s completely safe and normal again.
  • Contactless Delivery – Encourage the implementation of contactless delivery in all housing societies so as to lower the chances of contracting Covid-19 is a must. Many food delivery applications have successfully implemented these safety protocols to combat the pandemic, similarly, every building society should practice the same.
  • Coupon Based Purchases – Another important point to implement during these tough times, to ease the process of delivery of essential goods and other requirements. It’s now possible to book a coupon online and the respective Grocery or Pharmacy store will update you when your number comes up! You can either collect the items yourselves or have them delivered to you.
  • Sanitise Incoming Packages – Another healthy habit is to make sure you sanitize or wash everything that comes into your home from outside. If you order food, make sure you remove the food from the container it comes in and reheats it in your own plates and bowls. Make sure to sanitize packets of food that come in with your groceries and wash fruits and vegetables well before eating them.
  • Keep Human Contact At The Minimum – In luxury apartments where it might be easier to maintain a cleaner living space, it is still important to maintain distance from your neighbours and other members of the residential community. It is also extremely important to quarantine yourself if you find yourself feeling unwell. You should cough or sneeze into a tissue if you can and cover your mouth always.

COVID-19 feels like the flu, so if you find yourself having flu-like symptoms, you should isolate yourself and speak to a doctor as soon as possible. If every person living in residential communities can adopt these healthy habits, the rate at which the virus is spreading will reduce rapidly. This will make it easier for healthcare workers to take care of the patients that urgently need their attention and will also put less pressure on the healthcare system. The risk of infection will reduce in your community and you can live safely. Every single person in the residential community can make a difference by maintaining these healthy habits.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_raw_html]JTNDc3R5bGUlM0UlMEEuc2VjdGlvbi10aXRsZS5kZWMtdGl0bGUlMjAlN0IlMEFkaXNwbGF5JTNBJTIwbm9uZSUzQiUwQSU3RCUwQSUwQSUzQyUyRnN0eWxlJTNF[/vc_raw_html][/vc_column][/vc_row]
